Install Lateral File Drawer Locks
Drawer locks – The locking bar connects to the face of its casing, covering the edges of the drawers to prevent their opening. Set beside the filing cabinet that you want to install lateral drawer locks on. Place the handle for locking bar in the slot, then secure the handle in place using the screws provided through the drive behind the bar and into the back of the handle with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Put the locking bar hinge towards the front of the chassis to the enclosure frame on the sides of the drawers. Drill a hole through the front part of the chassis frame where you placed the pencil mark using an electric drill with a drill bit the same size as the mounting screws.
Screw bar in place of a metal filing cabinet with one of the self-tapping metal screws that came with the bar, leave the screw loose. Repeat drilling and assembly process with the bottom-most hole in the bar. Tighten all screws in place. Operated bar by lifting the handle and swing bar over the face of the filing cabinet drawers. Lower the handle to reveal the mounting hole for the drawer locks, and then enter the lock in place to ensure file drawers.
