Racing Games Night - Feb 2002
There are games where you score points, capture enemy pieces, or
kill dragons. In fact, the first question you should ask when learning
a new game is, "How do I win?" Well, this game night,
it was pretty simple: just Get There First.
Ready, Set, Go!
IT'S TIME FOR RACING GAMES!

Who knew that snails were the ferrarris of the garden? Choose
from six obstacle-laden tracks, fuel up your gastropod, and
let the shells fly! Warning: these snails have grappling hooks,
hammers, and afterburners.
2-6 players.

If that rabbit hadn't been so cocky, wouldn't "speed"
have beaten "slow and steady?" Find out in Hare
& Tortoise, a rabbit run where everyone has to stop and
eat the lettuce. Don't let the fur fool you--this is not a
children's game! 2-6 players.

All aboard, riverboat gamblers and Mark Twain! Maneuver your
paddlewheeler down an everchanging in river in Mississippi
Queen. Passengers need to be picked up, but the waters hold
hidden dangers for the overzealous captain. In this game,
running out of steam will leave you dead in the water! 3-5
players.

In this mix of billiards, pinball, and air hockey, how
far you move is how far you can flick your car! But watch
out: too much force and you might fly off the track! Can you
stick to the road and beat your opponents? (and maybe knock
them out of the race as you pass?) 2-8 players.

Seven horses line up at the track. The players (proper Victorian
gentlemen and ladies) secretly make wagers on which equine
they hope will win, place, or show. And once the race begins,
any horse can be moved by anyone!
2-6 players

And what would a racing game night be without automobiles?
In Formula Dé, the acclaimed European auto race simulation,
the die you roll to move depends on what gear you're in! But
take the corners too fast, and they'll be replaying your spinout
on Fox specials for years to come. The boards are all accurate
representations of real racetracks: Monaco, Quebec, Long Beach,
and more! 2-10 players.
