Yay! You've found "the" Jen - the founder of My People Connection. :-D
I've lived all over -- small-town Pennsylvania; Washington, DC; Center City Philadelphia; Bethesda, Maryland; Las Vegas; and Los Angeles -- and I like that L.A. is home to people from all over the world, just like New York. You can indulge in Brazilian cuisine, visit the Thai Buddhist temple, practice Spanish in your neighborhood Oaxacan taquerias, chat with your French artist-friends, or watch the world go by with your boba tea in Little Tokyo.
Please sign up and lead events with MyPC if you love this site. We have too many good ideas and not enough people to implement them. |

| | MyPC Story: | You can read more about how I started My People Connection in 1999 here: http://www.mypeopleconnection.com/about_us/history.php but basically I moved out West and didn't know anyone. I was afraid I'd be alone in LA, friendless forever, confined to my apartment with my TiVo and Haagen-Daaz, so I started hosting events for friends - and I founded this group as a result, years before any free social groups for friends came into existence. MyPC allowed me to explore the city and meet new friends in the process, which made my new place in LA feel like home.
Since 1999 I've tried so many new activities and explored hundreds of new places with our group -- sunset horseback riding in the Hollywood Hills, salsa dancing, beach rollerblading, European board gaming, abstract painting, yoga, hiking, visiting a huge outdoor coed spa, indulging in all manner of exotic cuisine (Ethiopian, Moroccan, Brazilian, Thai, Vietnamese, Argentinian, Russian, South African, Bulgarian), shopping the flower markets, taking afternoon teas, breakfasting in our pajamas in public, kayaking, touring the Venice canals - and that's only the tip of the iceberg. Along the way, I've met incredible people, many of whom have become close friends - even like family - and some whom I spend the holidays with each year.
Through My People Connection, I've seen people find their best friends, their business partners, their weekend hiking buddies, and their dates - some have even gotten married and had kids (even though we're not a singles group). You never know who you'll meet or what positive impact they'll have on your life. So jump in!
Friends make all the difference. When I moved here, I didn't know anybody. Now I feel like I know half the city -- and I even have friends in our other MyPC cities to see when I visit. Nothing beats the feeling you get when you walk through the door and everyone greets you by name. Give it a shot - you have nothing to lose and friends to gain! | | Q & A: | My creative side is... alive and well. Writing, painting, sewing, quilting, & planning fun events.
When it comes to parties, I'd best be described as... the life of the party. I'm "the" Jen, after all. :-D
With free time on a day off, I would most enjoy... spending time with my family.
Turn ons... laughter, living in the moment, trying something new. Change it up!
Favorite MyPC Events... Games Days, Crafts Days, Movie Nights, Language Tastings!
Favorite Quote... Never, never, never give up. - Winston Churchill
