"Renaissance" is the word that best describes Downtown Los Angeles today, as one of the world's largest metropolitan areas returns to its political, economic and cultural center.
As the largest county and the second largest city in the nation, Downtown Los Angeles is one of the most significant political centers in the country. Many local, state and federal agencies are located here. In fact, Downtown Los Angeles has the largest concentration of government employees outside of Washington D.C.
