October 2003: Abandon
Ship!!!

|
This game night explores the psychology of survival, within
the terrifying ordeal of maritime disaster. The order of the
night: sinking ships, leaking lifeboats, shark-infested waters,
and desert islands.
Such trials bring out the extremes of humanity, from pinnacles
of heroism to selfish acts of shameless self preservation.
Get to the Lifeboats! It's Game
Night: Abandon Ship!!!

Atlantis is sinking! Chunks of land tumble into the sea, and
the rescue galleons set sail, lest the suction pull them down.
Desperate Atlanteon citizens brave the rough waters, swimming
for the fleeing galleons. But even the ships aren't safe from
the crushing tentacles of monstrous squids. Who will Survive?
Who will Escape
from Atlantis?

This prequel to Kill Dr. Lucky (as played during the Murder
& Mystery Game Night) turns the original game
on its head. Instead of doing in the doctor without being
seen, you've got to save him from a sinking ship, but only
if somebody observes your bravery--what's the point in being
helpful if there's no one there to watch? Bet I can Save
Doctor Lucky before you!

Rette
Sich Wer Kann, (Roughly, "every man for himself")
is a game of pure negotiation. Seven lifeboats drift toward
distant islands. Each turn, one boat will spring a leak, one
boat will move closer to an island, and sailors may find themselves
thrown to the sharks. And it's all decided by vote.
3-6 players.

Six survivors row for land aboard a cramped Lifeboat.
Each has a secret love and a secret rival. Manipulate your
shipmates to cause the death of your rival, while you and
your love are rescued--hopefully laden with provisions and
loot. But spend too much time fighting and everyone will perish.
5-6 players.

A handful of you made it to a deserted island. Now you need
to fend for yourselves until someone shows up to rescue you.
In this bid and bluff game, players compete for ownership
of food, water, and shelter. Trick your opponents into squandering
their resources while you collect the goods. To survice being
Shipwrecked,
master the art of second-guessing and psyche-outs.
2-4 players.

The Abandon Ship theme reaches the 23rd century in Sucking
Vacuum. The International Space Station has sprung
a leak, and is losing air fast. The astronauts scramble
into spacesuits and run for the escape pod. Unfortunately,
the pod can't launch without a pilot and copilot...and only
seats two. Wheedle, cajole, and beat your way to safety,
or learn to hold your breath for a long, long time.
3-6 players.
